Using Containers for Seamless Computing - Docker

Containers are application modernization trends that provide an encapsulated and secured process environment to run code while freeing the user from having to worry about the libraries, dependencies and other requirements. They have become ubiquitous in various software supply chains and development activities. This course would give a basic overview of the Docker container runtime and introduce the participants to packaging and deploying sample images. The lab PCs will be used for hands-on training.

No registration is needed. All seats are first-come, first-served and are limited to the first 40 participants.

Intro to Cloud - Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google (GCP)

The current trends show that Cloud computing has established itself as an indispensable technology. Statistics indicate that 90% of enterprises and businesses have a cloud presence, and that 94% of all workload are expected to be handled via Cloud data centers by 2021. This course serves a broad overview of Cloud computing basics, terminologies, and essential tools and options to realizing a simple infrastructure as a cloud-based service (IaaS). The lab PCs will be used for hands-on training.

Cloud-Native Computing - AWS, Azure and GCP

Cloud native technologies empower organizations to build and run scalable applications in public, private, and hybrid clouds. Containers, service meshes, microservices, immutable infrastructure, and declarative APIs exemplify this approach. This course will give an overview of the fundamentals of cloud native computing and introduce the participants to code development on the cloud, controlling the execution via containers, and experimenting with loosely coupled microservices that are serverless.  The lab PCs will be used for hands-on training.
