The talk will present a brief overview of its author’s academic itinerary starting with his early interest in virtual memory and ending with his current research interests.
About the Speaker
Jehan-François Pâris is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at the University of Houston. He was formerly faculty at Purdue University and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Pâris received his Ingénieur Civil degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, his Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies from the Université de Paris VI, France, his Licence et Maîtrise en Informatique from the Université de Namur, Belgium and his Ph. D. in EECS from the University of California, Berkeley. His past research interests have included program restructuring, the management of replicated data, video distribution protocols, file access prediction and disk failure prediction. His current research interests focus on storage system reliability.
He is a senior member of the ACM and the IEEE Computer Society.
