CNRCS Director Appointed to Board of The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas


Dr. Jan-Åke Gustafsson, director of the UH Center for Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling has been appointed to the board of directors for The Academy of Medicine, Engineering & Science of Texas (TAMEST). As a member of the board, Gustafsson joins leading Texas scientists from industry and academia in advancing the Academy’s goals of promoting excellence in science, engineering and medicine both within and beyond the State of Texas.

“It is both an honor and a privilege for me to serve on the board of directors of TAMEST,” Gustafsson says. “In this position, I will work hard to increase the national and international awareness of the cutting edge research being conducted in the State of Texas.”

Founded in 2004, the Academy was established to recognize achievements in medicine, engineering and science throughout the State of Texas. Gustafsson was appointed to the board based upon his membership in the National Academy of Science and on his recognized leadership in the nuclear receptor field of research.
