MINORITY MANAGEMENT PROFESSORS
MEET AT UH FOR NATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Management Faculty of Color Association (MFCA) will hold its
second annual conference at the University Hilton Hotel June 2-4.
Sponsors of the conference include the University of Houston’s
C.T. Bauer College of Business, the University of Maryland’s
Robert H. Smith’s School of Business and Texas Southern University’s
Jesse H. Jones School of Business.
The conference theme is “Agents of Change: Building Our Professional
and Personal Strengths to Meet New Academic Challenges.” Session
topics are teaching pedagogy, research development and professional
development.
“Given the diversity of UH and Bauer College, Houston is
the perfect host to MFCA’s annual conference,” said
conference co-chair and Bauer College Assistant Professor of Management
Ashleigh Shelby Rosette.
MFCA is a non-profit member organization that promotes and supports
the professional development of African American, Hispanic American
and Native American business management faculty.
Since its founding in 2001, the MFCA has met the professional development
needs of underrepresented minority management faculty by offering
professional development workshops and conferences on research,
teaching and career advancement, hosting networking events and facilitating
in-person, on-line mentoring and social support activities. The
association boasts a membership of nearly 100 management professors
throughout the United States.
