HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY COUNSELOR TO ADDRESS
GRADUATES OF UH COLLEGE OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT
More than 70 students of the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton
College of Hotel and Restaurant Management prepare to cross the
stage at commencement ceremonies planned for 10 a.m., Friday, May
13 at the UH-Hilton Grand Ballroom.
H. Joseph Machicote, vice president of relations development for
Compass Group Americas Division in Charlotte, North Carolina, will
address the students. Machicote is also a member of the Human Resources
Advisory Council, which provides information and guidance to the
Resource Center for Workforce Solutions. The Resource Center is
a tool for restaurant and foodservice professionals who want to
improve various aspects of the industry.
Machicote’s career in the hospitality industry began as a
dishwasher in college. He rose through the ranks from a kitchen
preparations worker, to cook, manager, account director, trainer
and to human resources director.
A reception honoring the graduating candidates will follow the
ceremonies in the UH-Hilton Waldorf-Astoria Ballroom.
