SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SANDRA DAY O’CONNOR
TO SPEAK
AT UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON LAW CENTER FUNCTION
The Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor, associate justice of the
Supreme Court of the United States, will speak in Houston at 7 p.m.,
Thursday, March 10, at an event sponsored by the University of Houston
Law Center.
No specific subject has been announced for the justice’s
remarks. The dinner event is called “An Evening with Sandra
Day O’Connor.”
O’Connor, a native of El Paso, is the first woman appointed
to the Supreme Court. Nominated by President Ronald Reagan, she
took office in 1981.
Her appearance is sponsored by the UH Law Center’s Institute
for Intellectual Property & Information Law, in cooperation
with the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association and the Federal
Bar Association. Admission is by pre-registered ticket only. For
