ROMANCE FUELS ‘LOVE AND HONORS’
POETRY AND PROSE READINGS
Passion inspires both provocative poetry and sensuous storytelling.
It’s also the force behind a special Valentine’s Day
edition of the University of Houston’s Poetry and Prose Reading
Series.
The event, “Love and Honors,” will feature readings
from the UH Honors College faculty and students 6 p.m. Monday, Feb.
14, in the University of Houston Honors College Commons on the second
floor of the M.D. Anderson Library. Admission is free and complimentary
refreshments will be available.
The Poetry and Prose Reading Series is coordinated by UH Libraries
with cooperation from UH’s Creative Writing Department and
The Honors College. Poetry and Prose readings are held three times
a semester.
“Three years ago, the Honors College was asked to put together
an event with a Valentine's Day theme, and ‘Love & Honors’
was the result,” said William Monroe, executive associate
dean of the Honors College and professor of English. “It turned
out to be the most popular event in the entire Poetry and Prose
Reading Series.”
