TUESDAY, Jan. 18

Blaffer Gallery
Blaffer Gallery’s latest exhibits are Jane and Louise Wilson: Erewhon, Ant Farm 1968-78 and J. D. ‘Okhai Ojeikere: Hairstyles. Erewhon consists of a five-screen video installation and related photographic works exploring the psychological dynamic of architecture. Ant Farm 1968-78 includes blue prints, publications, documents, drawings, collages, photographs, architectural models and documentary video clips of the exhibit. J. D. ‘Okhai Ojeikere: Hairstyles, consists of 40 photographs of hairstyles from Ovibiomu-Emai, Nigeria, worn at celebrations, festivals and marriages. Exhibits run through Mar. 5. Erewhon, First Floor Galleries, Ant Farm 1968-78, Second Floor Galleries. Blaffer Gallery, 120 Fine Arts Building, Free. Workshop: Green Homes 101: What Is a Green Roof?
A consortium of local volunteers and the Houston Advanced Research Center present a free workshop titled “Green Homes 101: What Is a Green Roof?” Geared towards designers, builders and homeowners this will help participants understand what building, remodeling and living in a green home can mean to the residents and the environment. 6 – 9 p.m., Jan. 18.
