BROADCAST VETERAN JOINS UH COMMUNICATIONS

HOUSTON, Nov. 1- Marisa Ramirez, a veteran of Houston news radio,
has joined the Office of University Communication at the University
of Houston.
Ramirez becomes a Media Relations Representative with the external
communications team serving as a liaison between the media and the
university. Her primary areas of responsibilities will include:
The Graduate School of Social Work, College of Education, African
American Studies program, The Center for Mexican American Studies,
College of Architecture and the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel
and Restaurant Management.

Ramirez is a former reporter and anchor at Newsradio 740 KTRH and,
most recently, the spokesperson for Interfaith Ministries for Greater
Houston, an area non-profit organization. She has more than 14 years
of experience in broadcast and print media.
“I’m excited to join this dynamic staff and eager to
tell the compelling and inspiring stories of the faculty and students
at UH,” Ramirez said.
A University of Houston graduate, Ramirez is a native of San Antonio.
She is married and has a young son.
