Blaffer Gallery: Jessica Stockholder,
Kissing the Wall: Works, 1988-2003
Blaffer Gallery’s latest exhibit is “Jessica Stockholder,
Kissing the Wall: Works, 1988-2003.” Stockholder's work
fuses found objects ranging from construction materials to furniture
and textiles to discarded household items, as well as more conventional
art making items, into works of art that blur the boundary between
painting and sculpture, object and environment, decorative beauty
and practical use. The exhibit will run through Nov. 21. Jessica

Symposium: Families in Crisis
UH Law professors Tom Oldham and Laura Oren and UH History professor
Steven Mintz host the Tenneco Community Sympoisum, “Families
in Crisis.” Legal and health professionals, leading social
scientists and members of the community will examine problems
facing today’s diverse families including domestic violence,
work-family conflicts, divorce and poverty. Families in Crisis.
