EXHIBITION OF DOMINIQUE PERRAULT’S
WORK HIGHLIGHTED
BY RECEPTION, GALLERY TALK AT UH COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE
A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at
the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture
in conjunction with the school’s current exhibition highlighting
the work of noted French architect Dominique Perrault.
Ronnie Self, assistant professor of architecture at UH, will present
a brief talk about Perrault, whose best known projects include the
French National Library in Paris, the Olympic Velodrome in Berlin
and the Court of Justice of the European Community in Luxembourg.
The exhibition, which is cosponsored by the College of Architecture,
the Consulate General of France and the Association Francaise d’Action
Artistique, is on display at the school through April 23. It is
free and open to the public 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through
Friday. The exhibition, prepared by gallery curator Stephen James,
displays pictures of Perrault’s work on 28 internally-lighted
boxes that hang from the building’s ceiling.
Since space for the Thursday reception and gallery talk is limited,
guests are asked to make reservations by calling 713-743-2400 or
e-mailing kpatterson@uh.edu.
