Susan McGoogan Gogue
“Susie,” as she often asks to be called, was born in
Baltimore, and as a young child moved with her family to Waycross,
Georgia – where Jay Gogue was born. They have known each other
since attending junior high school together, and were married in
1968.
She attended Auburn University, earning a bachelor’s degree
in sociology in 1969 and a master’s degree in family and child
development in 1970.
Susie has raised three children. Jason, who has a bachelor’s
degree from Clemson University, lives in Kansas City with wife Becky.
Alison, who has a master’s degree from Auburn University,
lives in Charleston, South Carolina. Barrett, who is attending Montana
State University, is scheduled to graduate in December.
Active in church, community and cultural events, Susie has a particular
interest in museums and art galleries.
