Houston Food Bank

Thursday, September 12, 2024

8:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Food usually comes from various sources in the food industry, like grocery stores and wholesalers, that have thousands of pounds of food to give away – food that could otherwise be thrown away.

As volunteers, most of the tasks in the warehouse consist of checking, sorting, and repackaging food to be distributed to the community.

If using the carpool, volunteers will meet in front of the Student Center South at 7:20 am, depart at 7:30 am, arrive at the event site at 8:00 am, and volunteer until noon. Please indicate on this sign-up form if you can provide a carpool - we always need volunteer drivers! All volunteer drivers will receive one extra volunteer hour for their generosity. After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 12:30 pm.
