Dig It Day Service Day

The Harry Holmes Community Garden in Sunnyside is a partnership with the Houston Land Trust, and Urban Harvest to support healthy green spaces for public access to locally grown fruits and vegetables. The Garden is managed and run by neighborhood volunteers and ardent supporters to grow food in the food desert of Houston.

Activities: Assisting Senior Citizen gardeners in needed maintenance clean-up of compost bins, shed, and general gardening tasks from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm on Saturday, February 3rd.

Dress: Wear your grubby wear, a hat, and bring a reusable water bottle.

Volunteers will meet at SC South at 1:30 PM depart at 1:40 PM arrive at the event site at 1:55 PM, and volunteer until 4:00 PM. Please indicate on the signup form if you can provide carpooling- we always need volunteer drivers! After the event, volunteers will return to campus and we expect to be back by 4:20 PM.

You’ll receive a confirmation and reminder email prior to the event containing more information! To sign up, complete the Google Form and we will contact you with more information about the event.
