Santa Maria Hostel Volunteering

Saturday, October 5, 2024

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Santa Maria Hostel in Houston is a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for women and their children. The hostel provides a safe and supportive environment, along with resources like counseling, job training, and educational opportunities, to help women regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Volunteers are needed to assist with art & craft activities with the residents at Santa Maria Hostel. For the month of October, we will be hosting fall related crafts such as pumpkin painting, bookmark making, and suncatcher painting. Assistance will be needed for the little kids who are interested in doing a fall craft.

We will meet at 1:20 pm at the Student Center South front desk area to ensure that we can get everyone a ride to the event. Please indicate on this sign-up form if you can provide carpool - we always need volunteer drivers! All volunteer drivers will receive one extra volunteer hour for their generosity. We expect to be back on campus by 4:30.

You’ll receive a confirmation and reminder email prior to the event containing more information! Please confirm once again via the sent confirmation email to ensure your spot, as there are limited volunteering positions. Primary point of contact will be GroupMe and/or text-message group chat.
