Nora’s Home Family Night

Wednesday, September 11, 2024

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Nora’s Home offers solid organ transplant patients and their families an affordable place to stay in the Texas Medical Center (TMC) where they can find support and share experiences with others, in the comfort of a home-like environment. The home is located 2.5 miles from the TMC and serves patients suffering from end stage organ disease and facing the need for life saving transplant surgery. Medical care often requires families to travel far from home and many patients awaiting transplant, under-going surgery or having follow-up care must stay in Houston for many months.

Volunteers for this event will help bring the FUN to the guests at Nora’s Home! Play games (BINGO, Trivia, Board Games, Chess, Checkers, etc.) with the families staying here. Show a movie or get creative and lead a craft night! We have many games for you to use but feel free to bring your own. We have something for everyone!

If using the carpool, volunteers will meet in front of the Student Center South at 5:30 pm and depart at 5:45 pm and arrive at the event site at 6 pm, and volunteer until 8 pm. Please indicate on this sign-up form if you can provide carpool - we always need volunteer drivers! All volunteer drivers will receive one extra volunteer hour for their generosity. After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 8:30 pm.
