Houston Food Bank: Teacher’s Aid
Tuesday, March 29, 2022
4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
MVP is volunteering at The Houston Food Bank’s Teacher’s Aid Program.
Kids need the right tools in order to succeed in school, but many families can’t afford the most basic school supplies, like pencils, crayons and notebooks. Many compassionate teachers pay for school supplies from their own pockets so their students aren’t at a disadvantage. The Teacher’s Aid program provides grade level supplies to teachers in schools in which 60% of students are on free or reduced-price lunch. Volunteers will be sorting, building boxes and restocking shelves
Volunteers will meet at the information desk at the Student Center at 3:30 and depart at 3:40 PM and arrive at the event site at 4:00 PM, and volunteer until around 7:00 PM. Please indicate on the sign up form if you can provide carpool- we always need volunteer drivers! After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 7:20 PM.
To sign up, complete the Google Form and Taylor Laredo , mvphh@cougarnet.uh.edu, will contact you with more information about training.
