In his seminal 1970s essay, Robert Greenleaf coined the term Servant Leadership and gave birth to framework for over five decades of leadership practices that focus on the servant as leader.
Our third rise value, Servant Leadership, centers on this philosophy of being of service to others, as we lead the way to improved health outcomes in communities that need it most.
This is a matter of the heart. Being willing and able to listen first, and then to lead with compassion, humility, openness and supportive behaviors are the four pillars of true servant leadership. As we labor together to find the right ways to make a difference, may we always R.I.S.E in every situation, test, trial, and victory!
