Lorraine Schroeder, M.A., L.P.C.
Lorraine was hired as the first director of the LGBTQ Resource Center in May 2010 when the Center opened. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Diversity Education Coordinator
Jamie joined the LGBTQ Resource Center as the first program coordinator in June 2016. She holds a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.Ed in Higher Education Administration from the University of Houston. Prior to her current role, Jamie served as the Graduate Assistant for UH’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion from 2014-2016. She oversees all major programming, student leadership development, educational workshops, and advisement of Gamma Rho Lambda. Go Coogs!
Rylie Jefferson joined The University of Houston LGBTQ Resource Center & Women and Gender Resource Center team on July 09, 2018 as the new office coordinator. Previously she worked at Houston Community College as a financial aid assistant. She will be obtaining her Associates Degree in Applied Science this fall from HCC then transferring to University of Houston to pursue a Bachelor in Human Resource Development. She has advocated for the LGBTQ community for well over 10+ years. She currently sits on the board for SOSU (Save Our Sister United) which is Houston’s first and only organization for Trans and cis gendered women. She always looks forward to learning new things, trying everything at least once and growing. She’s excited to be a part of the LGBTQ and Women and Gender Resource Centers along with providing support for the staff and students.
Dani joined the LGBTQ Resource Center in June 2019. They have masters degrees in Clinical Psychology and Counseling and are currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology through the College of Education. Dani is passionate about LGBTQ+well-being and incorporates this focus on the community into their professional roles. They are part of a research team that focsues on LGBTQ+ coping with stress and resilience. Also, they were fortunate to train at the Montrose Center to provide individual and group counseling to the queer community. Dani approaches new situations with curiosity, warmth, and empathy. When at home, they spend time doting on their fur child, Wilhelmina.
Albert is one of the marketing assistants for the LGBTQ Resource Center. He is an MIS major in the school of business. Albert is working towards his lifting goals at the gym; he also holds interest in video games and horror novels. Albert is always looking to learn more about the world's evolving social climate.
Taylor is the program assistant for the LGBTQ Resource Center. He is a transfer student from the Rio Grande Valley pursuing an Advertising major at UH. He loves dogs, geology, and being creative with friends. His main hobbies include volunteer work, advocating for the LGBTQ+ community and video games.
Jayce is the Marketing Assistant for the LGBTQ Resource Center. Jayce is an English Major with a focus in Creative Writing of the Fiction variety. They are passionate about advocating for mental health acceptance and surrounding stigmas. In their spare time you can find them lounging with their emotional support cat, June.
