Artist Bios
Hayley Abbott (Starveling) is a freshman BFA actor. This will be her second show at UH, appearing previously in Fuente Ovejuna. As a recent high school graduate, Hayley’s previous credits include:The Women Of Lockerbie, A Christmas Carol, and Time and the Conways.
Deion Adkins (Peter Quince) is a sophomore BFA actor. Previous credits include: Esteban in Fuente Ovejuna (UH), Fred Gailey in The Miracle on 34th Street (Pearl Theatre Guild), Iago in Othello (Sabine Pass Theatre Company), and Dr. Harvey Kelekian in Wit (Sabine Pass Theatre Company). Deion is also a carpenter in the scene shop here at UH. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and competitive gaming.
William Allen (Oberon) is a first year MFA actor. He received his Bachelors in Theatre at Troy University this past spring. His favorite credits include: Ogun Size in The Brothers Size, Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Jefferson in A Lesson Before Dying, and Zeus/Orpheus in Metamorphoses.
Mischa Aravena (Lysander) is a first year MFA actor. Mischa is a Chilean born actor/singer who has lived in Canada since the age of 5. Mischa has studied at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Academy in their Shakespeare classes as well as The Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People in Toronto. He holds a BFA acting degree from the University of Windsor. He wrote, produced and starred in a short play entitled Will Act for Food about legendary B actor Bruce Campbell. Other credits include: Ken in Red, Juan Peron in Evita, Alfred in The Maple Leaves (Stratford), Gerardo in Death and the Maiden (NorteSur), Jamie in The Last Five Years (PPS), Dr. Frankenstein in Frankenstein (OP), MacDuff in Macbeth, (Hart House Theatre), Robert in Harold Pinter’s Betrayal (NorteSur), Anthony in Sweeney Todd (CCP), Dominic in Amy’s View (BOTG) and Howard in Picnic.
Joshua Eguia (Cobweb) is a junior BFA actor and dancer. Previous credits include: Pilgrimage of the Rose, Texas! The Musical, Cuckoo and ¡Bocón!. He has also choreographed in the Emerging Choreographers Showcase 2013-2015. This semester he will be performing in Ensemble Dance Works, and taking his original piece, “The Mary-Go-Round Broke Down” to the American College Dance Festival in Mississippi.
Crystal Grimaldo (Peaseblossom) is a junior BFA theatre educater. Previous credits include: Ana/Chorus in ¡Bocón!, and Ensemble in Fuente Ovejuna. In her free time, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family and teaching the bright minds at Lantrip Elementary.
Adham James Haddara (Egeus) is a second year MFA actor. He earned his undergraduate degree at the American University in Cairo where he was involved in several plays both on and off stage. Previous credits include: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, A Midsummer Night's Dream, True West, King Lear, Bus Stop, The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, and last semester’s production of Three Sisters.
Heidi Hinkel (Helena) is first year MFA actor. She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and holds a BA in both Theater and Journalism from Penn State University. Favorite roles include: Ono in Swiss Family Robinson (NY Musical Theatre Festival), Digital Dilemmas (Theatre for the New City, NYC), Logainne SchwartzandGrubenniere in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Penn State), and 2050: An Original Musical (UN, Switzerland). Past UH credits include: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
Zach Howard (Snout) is a freshman BFA actor. He was most recently seen in UH’s production of Fuente Ovejuna.
Will Inman (Flute) is a sophomore BFA playwright. He has directed several original plays in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, the most recent one beingThe Lesbian Exhibit. He was previously seen in the student directed play: A Picasso. In his spare time, he likes to write about dead bodies and strong women.
Hannah Kreig (Hippolyta/Titania) is a junior BFA actor. Recent credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Stark Naked Theatre Company), Peace in Our Time (Main Street Theatre), and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (UH). In her free time, which is rare, she plays Halo with her boyfriend and enjoys all the amazing theatre that Houston has to offer.
Harry McEnerny V (Bottom) is a second year MFA actor. UH credits include: Three Sisters, All My Sons, The Liar and King Lear. Harry has performed in multiple productions in the Boston area, and received an Elliot Norton Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Lennie in Of Mice and Men, as well as an Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Lumberjacks in Love. He recently performed for Oprah Winfrey in a staged reading of a new musical directed by Broadway director Charles Randolph-Wright, and gospel legend Bebe Winans.
Laura Menzie (Hermia) is a first year MFA actor. Laura has worked at the Roy Arias Studio in NYC and the Boston Center for the Arts. Most recent credits include: Vanya Sonia Masha and Spike, Orlando, Soul Mates, Songs of the Dragons, and The Nina Variations. Laura had also been involved in the past three seasons of Brown Box Theatre's free Shakespeare at the Beach tour performing as Juliet and Hermia. She has worked with the Icaro Teatro in Mexico and on the world premier of Great War Theatre Project in the UK. She holds her BA from Clark University.
Daniel Regojo (Snug/Lion) is a sophomore BFA actor. Previous credits include: Dewey in Soft Soap, Randy in Almost, Maine, and Ensemble in The Playboy of the Western World (UH). More recently he was Farmer in Fuente Ovejuna (UH), and Guildenstern in Hamlet (Clear Creek Community Theatre). In his free time, Daniel is a semi-professional beatboxer and enjoys competitive fighting games.
Carlton Warnberg (Demetrius) is a first year MFA actor. He is a recent graduate of the University of South Alabama and is making his UH debut. Previous credits include: Erysichthon in Metamorphoses, Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest, Porthos in The Three Musketeers, and Ferdinand in The Tempest. Carlton has also worked professionally as a member of the 2014 cast of TECUMSEH! Outdoor Drama in Chillicothe, OH.
Michael Wert (Fairy) is a freshman BFA actor.
Wesley Whitson (Puck) is a Junior BFA actor. Previous UH credits include: Three Sisters, The Playboy of the Western World, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This upcoming summer Wesley will be an acting intern with the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. In his free time, Wesley enjoys good company, laughing, and plenty of sleep (which he doesn't get enough of).
Alex Zuniga (Fairy) is a junior BFA actor. Previous UH credits include: Ensemble in Blood Wedding and Bocón in ¡Boćon! In his free time, Alex loves to work out, practice the ukulele and socialize with his friends.
Robert Leslie Meek (Director) completed his training as a BFA acting major here at The University of Houston: School of Theatre and Dance last May. New to directing his credits include: The Haunting of Hill House, William Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, Shakespeare's The Tempest (Clear Creek Community Theatre) and assistant directed Ho Ho Humbug (Stark Naked Theatre Company). He has also been in charge of a Youth Theatre Program during the summer for the past four years. He was last on stage as Snug and Cobweb in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Stark Naked Theatre Company, Philly in Playboy of The Western World, Charles and Corin in As You Like It, Father in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Jan Warwick in The Unexpected Guest (UH).
Laura Moreno (Costume Designer) is a senior BFA actor. Laura is a professional makeup artist and, prior to UH, spent several years working in the cosmetics and fashion industry in New York City. Her experience includes designing makeup for runway and beauty editorials, as well as working with some of the most influential makeup artists in the beauty industry. Last year she styled hair, makeup and wigs for The Beaux’ Stratagem, Our Country's Good, The Philadelphia Story, the Houston Shakespeare Festival and, most recently, Fallen Angels at Main Street Theatre.
Troy Loftin (Dramaturg) is a senior BFA playwright/dramaturg. Additionally, Troy is obtaining a minor in classical studies. He has had three of his original plays staged at UH, with Cuckoo being the first full-length staged. Troy is also a freelance dramaturg for the Houston area and has worked on shows for the University of Houston, Stages Repertory Theatre, and Main Street Theatre. He is the Literary Associate for Landing Theatre Company, responsible for dramaturging main stage shows as well as organizing the New American Voices Play Reading Series. He also serves as Senior Partner for UH’s annual Ten Minute Play Festival and is the Young Ambassador for the Dramatists Guild – Houston region.
David Olivarez (Dramaturg) is a junior BFA playwright/dramaturg. UH acting credits include: Mother Courage and Her Children and ¡Bocón¡. Dramaturgy credits include: Blood Wedding and The Philadelphia Story at UH, Macbeth at Stark Naked Theatre Company, and The Tempest at Clear Creek Community Theater.
Jeana Magallon (Dramaturg) is a freshman BFA playwright/dramaturg. Favorite credits include: Jacinta in Fuente Ovejuna, Lenore Van Meer in To See the Stars, and Estelle in No Exit.
Amanda Reimer (Stage Manager) is a junior BFA stage manager. She has worked on several UH productions, including: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, ¡Bocón!, The Liar, The Ten Minute Play Festival (2014), and Brick Wall. When not helping with productions, taking classes, or working, she enjoys writing, cooking, and talking in third person.
Heather Ayllon (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman BFA production major. Previous UH credits include: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (2015) and Three Sisters (2015). Outside of theatre, Heather enjoys painting, reading, and hiking.Faculty | Staff | Crew

About SOTD
The UH School of Theatre & Dance produces pre-professional plays, dance concerts, studio productions, and Theatre for Young Audiences. Performances are delivered in in the Wortham and Quintero Theatres. The UH School of Theatre & Dance offers bachelor’s degrees in playwriting and dramaturgy, acting, design and technology, stage management and theatre education. Its graduate programs consist of a Master of Arts in theatre studies, a summer Master of Arts in theatre education, and Master of Fine Arts degrees in acting, and design and technology. Noted alums include actors Jim Parsons, Dennis Quaid, Brett Cullen and Robert Wuhl. Faculty includes award-winning playwright, television writer, and novelist, Theresa Rebeck, Tony Award-winning producer Stuart Ostrow and Tony-nominated designer Kevin Rigdon. Past-distinguished faculty are Edward Albee, Lanford Wilson, Sir Peter Hall, Jose Quintero, Patsy Swayze and Cecil Pickett.
