25th Anniversary Concert and Celebration
June 7 Concert - Traffic will be heavy and delays are to be expected due to construction on Cullen Blvd and multiple events happening on campus that day. Elgin Street, between Scott and Cullen is also expected to be affected.
Concert patrons are encouraged to avoid to taking the Cullen Exit off I-45 to Entrance 16 and instead use one of these alternate routes:
From the North - I–45 South, exit Cullen. Continue through the light, on feeder road, and turn right on Elgin towards campus, turn left at the first light (Entrance 18), and follow road around to Lot 16 across from the Moores School of Music. Tell the parking attendant that you are here for the Texas Music Festival Concert.
From the South - I–45 North, exit Lockwood/Elgin/Cullen. Continue to light and turn left at Elgin. Turn left at the third light (Entrance 18), and follow road around to Lot 16 across from the Moores School of Music. Tell the parking attendant that you are here for the Texas Music Festival Concert.

American soprano Cynthia Clayton is an audience favorite in opera houses throughout the United States and overseas for her critically acclaimed performances of roles. She has been a professor of voice at the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston since 2005. Learn more
Melanie Sonnenberg
mezzo-soprano
Melanie Sonnenberg has impressed the music world with her distinctive mezzo soprano interpretations, ranging from the bel canto to the French and Russian repertoire. She is recognized for her commanding dramatic and vocal skills. She has built a diverse operatic repertoire of nearly fifty roles. Learn more
Houston Symphony Chorus
The Houston Symphony Chorus is the official choral unit of the Houston Symphony. Each season the volunteer chorus prepares and presents great choral-orchestral masterworks under the baton of conductors of international acclaim. Learn more
Charles Hausmann
director
Dr. Hausmann - HSC's director - has prepared and conducted the Chorus for more than 500 concerts. Since he became director of the Chorus in 1986, he has collaborated with many of the world’s great conductors. Learn more
