Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts- Convergence Research

Wednesday, February 15, 2023

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Inspired by two current exhibitions at Blaffer Art Museum, first year master’s students Ashley Wang, Miranda Keating, and Khanthida Mounivong will present a multi-disciplinary performance confronting the constructed social expectations placed on marginalized groups in the United States.
The trio aspires to provide an inclusive space for the audience to reflect on their own identity, enabling a collective conversation in an effort to build a culture of acceptance and collaboration without the fear of survival or assimilation.

Convergence Research is a collaboration between the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (CWMCA) and the Blaffer Art Museum. It is a platform for experimentation and research for students and faculty of all disciplines in the McGovern College of the Arts with the goal of creating more opportunities for connection between the disciplines. Convergence Research supports interdisciplinary inquiry and techniques to stimulate creative process and cultivate works that are performative, temporary and in any stage of process.
