Funding Opportunities The Russell Sage Foundation supports social science research and is dedicating its next funding cycle exclusively to research on the social, political, economic and psychological consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for regular research grants is November 11, and for pipeline grants, it is November 4. See the guidelines for additional information. The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) seeks proposals from across the social sciences and related fields that address the risks, opportunities and challenges posed by public health surveillance stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic to respond to its Just Tech COVID-19 Rapid Response program. Strong teams will be multi-method or cross-sector, joining, for example, humanists and social scientists, social and natural scientists, qualitative and quantitative methodologists, academic researchers and practitioners, or researchers from different parts of the world. A New COVID-19 Website and UH Go Check out the new COVID-19 website. The site is now customized for specific users. For instance, the Faculty pages have information on the Reopening Plan, Positive Cases on Campus, and On-Campus Testing, among many other categories of interest to faculty. If you come on campus, download the UH Go app. The updated UH Go app offers new features, including density maps, dining options, and a health self-assessment. Testing for COVID-19 Testing for benefits-eligible faculty and staff who are not on campus is available through your primary care physician and covered 100% by UH’s employee health insurance. For those who do not have a primary care physician, the Lone Star Circle of Care at the UH Clinic in the Health 2 building on campus is an option for evaluation and testing. Testing is also available at the Student Health Center, located in the Health 2 Building by appointment only. Priority is given to students, faculty and staff who are on campus. Results should be returned within 24 hours, and University contact tracing teams will immediately notify anyone known to have been potentially exposed to someone who was on campus during the infectious period. The individual’s health insurance will be billed and will need to be presented at the time of the appointment. The cost of the test for individuals who do not have health insurance is $70.
