Tickets will be required for all commencement ceremonies taking place at the University of Houston. Tickets will be distributed to the graduating students via email closer to the date of the ceremony. Each graduate will receive six (6) electronic tickets. Graduates themselves will not require a ticket. Children two (2) years of age and under will not require tickets. Tickets are ceremony-specific and may only be used for the ceremony displayed on the ticket.

All commencement tickets are complimentary, and any unused tickets should be returned to the commencement ticket pool. The selling of commencement tickets is not condoned by the University and could constitute a violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with this directive will result in a referral to the Dean of Students Office.

Commencement ticket lottery program gives graduates an opportunity to give back unused tickets to the commencement ticket pool. Tickets that are given back from fellow graduates will be reallocated to other graduates who need additional commencement tickets for their respective commencement ceremony.

Students interested in entering a commencement lottery to receive additional tickets can submit a request to be placed on the waitlist. The commencement lottery will open to submit your request beginning March 21 at 10:00am through March 26 at 11:59pm CST. Please note, the availability of extra tickets is not guaranteed and depends on the number of graduates and amount of returned or unclaimed tickets; please plan accordingly. Email inquiries will not be considered for additional tickets. Link will be provided on the week of March 18.

The Grad Squad

Grad Fair is an opportunity for graduates to begin in-store purchases of regalia, pre-order materials (announcements, tassels, etc.), take professional headshots, and meet with Herff Jones and Balfour representatives.

Need additional tickets? Participate in the Commencement Guest Ticket Lottery for an opportunity to request additional tickets. Please note, additional tickets are not guaranteed. Link will be provided on the week of March 18.

Each semester we ask our soon-to-be graduates to send us their grad photos to be included in the commencement ceremony’s pre-show, as well an opportunity to be featured on the official University of Houston social media profiles. Link will be provided on the week of April 8.

Join us with the UH Campus Store to celebrate our graduates. You will be able to pick up their regalia, commencement ticket lottery additional tickets, decorate grad caps, take a photo at our commencement-themed photobooth, pick up spirit cords, speak with Herff Jones and Balfour representatives, enjoy music from our DJ, win door prizes, and enjoy refreshments.
