MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

I hope everyone is settling into the semester well! As you know, UH has rolled out its new strategic plan. You’ll see the direction we’ve been taking as a College aligns seamlessly with the top three goals:

  • Provide a top tier, inclusive educational experience to all
  • Build a research powerhouse that impacts our region and the world
  • Serve as an exemplar for equitable and inclusive community engagement

I’m pleased to announce that our efforts to advance equity will continue under the leadership of Clinical Associate Professor Sam Brower (CUIN) and Clinical Assistant Professor Tiffany J. Davis (ELPS). Please stay tuned for additional information.

I also appreciate the continued dedication to accelerating our research activity. According to a recent UH report, the College of Education ranked third-highest among all the colleges in awards received in FY 2020 based on dollar amount. This is excellent as we continue to work on increasing research expenditures in line with the University’s bold vision to be a top 50 public university.

As 2020 taught us, we can rise to a challenge.
