Join the University of Houston's Hurricane Resilience Research Institute (HuRRI) on October 19, virtually, for the Natural Hazards Summit — Responding to and Mitigating the Impacts.

From leading the country in some of the deadliest and costliest hurricanes in recorded history, suffering $500 million dollars in damages from wildfires spreading through 4 million acres of Texas land in 2011, to enduring a catastrophic winter storm in February 2021 that left millions without power, Texas has been greatly impacted by natural disasters.

Register on Zoom today to join government officials, research leaders and insurance industry representatives as we take a hard look at what the state needs to know and do to prepare for future natural disasters, unprecedented weather events and global pandemics, including response, recovery and mitigation of the impacts.

Part I of the TAMEST Natural Hazards Summit is free to attend and open to all in the research community.
