At the Bauer College of Business, we are on a path to excellence. As the most significant producer of business talent for the Houston community, we are challenged to provide a world-class education to our students to prepare them for the global economy. The 2001-02 academic year was a history-making year for the Bauer College of Business, providing us with significant progress in the attainment of our mission. Within the last year…

• We launched the innovative AIM Center for Investment Management; a $5 million learning laboratory providing students hands-on experience in financial management.
• We launched the Cougar Investment Fund, L.L.C., one of a few student-managed mutual funds in the nation with private investors and a comprehensive approach to training students in all aspects of running a mutual fund.
• We began our first branding campaign “For the real world of business”, designed to generate awareness and excitement about the College and our exceptional programs.
• We provided over 550 Bauer College students with over $1 million of scholarship support.
• We hosted Warren Buffett (Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway), as well as many of Houston’s business leaders.
• We announced our newest center of excellence, the Global Energy Management Institute, intended to become a leading provider of energy education and research for the energy community.

These are just a few examples of the energy and activity occurring at the Bauer College of Business. We are challenged to build on the momentum that Mr. Charles T. (Ted) Bauer created with his exceptional gift of $40 million bestowed on the college almost two years ago and are committed to continue to work to make the Bauer College one of the nation’s premier business institutions.
