Are guests allowed in the residential halls?

Student Housing and Residential Life are observing three levels of operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under Normal Operations or Adjusted Operations, guests are allowed in residential common spaces. These spaces are identified as residential lobbies, study lounges, community kitchens, and computer labs.

Can I have a guest in my room if I am not sick?

Guests are not allowed in residential rooms, apartments or suites.

Who is considered a guest in a residential hall?

    • Guest(s) are defined as anyone not assigned by SHRL to the space in which they are present.
    • Guest(s) must always be accompanied by a resident host.
    • Given the level of social distancing Student Housing and Residential Life reserves the right to further limit guests within the residential spaces.

What are the resident’s responsibilities for their guests?

    • Only one guest per resident will be allowed in the residential hall.
    • Guest(s) must always register with the service desk upon entering the community.
    • Prior to entering the building, guests will need to confirm with a resident host that they are not diagnosed with COVID disease and/or do not have COVID-19 symptoms.
    • The resident host is responsible for the conduct of their guest and must accompany them at all times
    • The right of your roommates/suitemates to use the room and have their privacy takes precedence over the privilege of visitation
    • Visitors of the opposite sex must use only the restroom facilities on a floor of the same sex (Moody Towers only).

Can I have guests or visitors in my room if I choose to isolate/self-quarantine on campus?

No. Guests and visitors are not permitted if you choose to isolate/self-quarantine on campus.
