Residential Community Standards & Expectations

Residential students acknowledge and understand that social distancing (keeping a distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and others) is important in reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Social distancing helps to protect residential students, their roommate(s), neighbors, classmates, faculty/staff, and the larger community with whom they may interact.

Residential students acknowledge and understand that the University of Houston requires face coverings for all students and employees while on campus until further notice. More information can be found here. Residential students also acknowledge and understand they must complete a daily assessment of their health/exposure and can find more information here.

If a resident receives a positive test or diagnosis of COVID-19 as detailed on the UH COVID-19 website, it is their responsibility to:

Residential students acknowledge and understand if they have been in close contact (within 6 feet for 15 mins or more) with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 as detailed on the https://uh.edu/covid-19/ website, it is their responsibility to notify their Residential Advisor and complete the form for Reporting Potential COVID-19 Exposure.

Residential students acknowledge and understand the University of Houston and Student Housing and Residential Life have established and maintained COVID-19 websites.

These sites provide information and resources regarding COVID-19 for all students and residential students. These sites are: https://uh.edu/covid-19/ or at https://uh.edu/housing. 

If a student has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID-19, or exhibits any Coronavirus Symptoms (other than symptoms related to a pre-existing medical condition), the following steps should be taken as outlined on the UH COVID-19 Diagnosis/Symptoms website.
