Face Coverings Guidelines in the Residential Halls

Effective immediately, face coverings are no longer required on the University of Houston campus per Governor Abbott’s Executive Order #36. While we move forward to address appropriate edits to our COVID-19 protocols, any protocol that requires face coverings at UH will no longer be enforced.

NOTE: As with all the guidance and protocols related to COVID-19, the University will adjust its guidance as necessary to reflect new information and findings.

The University of Houston continues to encourage the wearing of face coverings, especially for individuals who are not fully vaccinated, but following Governor Abbott’s May 18, 2021 Executive Order, face coverings are no longer required on campus.

While we move forward to address appropriate updates to our COVID-19 protocols to reflect this change, effective May 18, 2021, any UH protocol that requires face coverings will no longer be enforced.
