About the Bilateral Chamber

The Bilateral Chamber of Commerce is at the forefront of global commerce. As a widely recognized cross-industry expert and resource, the Chamber strives to strengthen international cooperation by advancing collaborative economic and commercial solutions founded on the principles of mutual respect and understanding. The depth of their expertise spans four economic sectors:

  • Aerospace/Aviation
  • Energy
  • Health Care
  • Information and Communications Technology

As a federal contractor for the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), the Chamber hosts a broad spectrum of reverse trade missions to the U.S. and brings foreign delegations representing billions of dollars in commercial opportunities to the front door of U.S. companies. We also serve as a trusted partner to many public sector entities, including U.S. Departments of Commerce, Energy and State, and numerous state and municipal agencies throughout the U.S.

About the Partnership

The Bilateral Chamber is committed to global engagement and the promotion of the leadership, visibility and participation of youth in international affairs.

The relationship between the Honors College at the University of Houston (Honors) and the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce is one that mutually serves the Houston community, the chamber, Honors students and the University of Houston.

Honors students work as part of the Bilateral Chamber internship team and are given the opportunity to improve their knowledge of international economic, political and cultural issues, while also gaining knowledge of how a small nonprofit organization operates.

Interns have the opportunity to meet accomplished leaders, international affairs experts and business development professionals who can help guide their career paths.

This opportunity gives students the means to use and grow their practical experience in a professional working environment.

Students will be engaged in projects that will inspire them to enhance their critical thinking, problem solving and collaborative skills, while simultaneously gaining insight from, and exposure to, senior public and private sector leaders from the United States and around the world.
