Richard A. Garner is the Interim Director of Speech and Debate and a Lecturer in the Honors College. Before coming to UH he coached at Harvard for a decade, after stints at N.Y.U., Columbia, and Emory. He received his doctorate from the University at Buffalo for work on the literature and rhetoric of early America, including questions of race, gender, and aesthetics.
