The Graduate Admissions Office is continuing to process applications for Summer and Fall 2020. Below are some important updates regarding graduate admissions. Please contact us here with questions.

Please check the following links for the latest UH COVID-19 updates:

APPLICANT INFORMATION
If you have concerns about the documents that you can provide at this time, please contact the graduate school transcript team (gradschool@uh.edu) for information about what is required for a transcript analysis or your graduate program advisor for questions regarding program-specific review.

SUMMER AND FALL 2020 ADMITTED STUDENTS
While official copies of your transcripts and certificates of degree are required during your first semester, we will work with students who have degrees conferred late and/or are unable to obtain official credentials due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will post updates regarding this situation as they become available.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
In response to the temporary closings of testing centers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Graduate School will now accept Duolingo English Test results on a temporary basis until August 1, 2020, as an alternative to demonstrate English Language Proficiency. The Duolingo English Test score of 105 will be accepted as an alternative to TOEFL and IELTS for proof of English proficiency.

I-20s FOR ADMITTED STUDENTS
Although U.S. Consulates have temporarily suspended F-1 Student Visa interview scheduling in some areas, we will continue to issue I-20 visa eligibility documents for the upcoming Summer and Fall 2020 semesters to allow applicants to schedule visa interviews as soon as possible after the U.S. Consulates reopen. If you are unable to obtain a student visa and arrive in time to begin your studies in Summer or Fall 2020, please contact your graduate program advisor.
