The Hub Construction Begins

Facilities/Construction Management is always building futures

It is time to begin construction on The Hub.

With the recent groundbreaking event on 22 April for The Hub project, Facilities/Construction Management is ready to move forward with the construction phase.

During the first half of May 2022, the site of the Student Center Satellite complex will be transformed into a construction zone. Construction fencing will be installed with careful consideration for pedestrian traffic paths.

Beginning May 23, 2022, a reconfiguration of Entrance 14 will be necessary. All traffic will be allowed in and out using the south side as a two-way street which still includes a way to turn-around. Construction vehicles will be using a small section of the north side as a temporary construction entrance to the project site. (See plan below.)

Reserved parking spaces will not be impacted with the reconfiguration of Entrance 14. The only parking that will be impacted are open ADA spots. Delivery points to all buildings will also be available.

A big thanks to our partners who reviewed the project plan including the Justin Dart, Jr. Student Accessibility Center, UH Police Department, UH Parking & Transportation, and UH Fire Marshal's Office.

The completion of this project is estimated for 2024.

Building futures for our students, faculty, and staff fulfill our purpose.
