Catherine F. Patterson

Catherine PattersonCatherine F. Patterson (AB, College of William and Mary; MA, PhD, University of Chicago) is Associate Professor of History and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Houston. She is author of Urban Patronage in Early modern England: Corporate Boroughs, the Landed Elite, and the Crown, 1580-1640 (Stanford: Stanford University Press, 1999). She has published numerous articles on society and politics in early modern England, and she is currently writing a book on urban government and the English state in the 17th century.
