The College of Education honored graduates at the Spring Commencement Reception in the KIVA, Farish Hall on Friday, May 10th 2013. Hosted by Robert McPherson, Dean of the College of Education, graduating students brought family and friends to this social event which gave students an opportunity to share parting words with their favorite faculty/staff members.

A raffle was held for graduating students who won door prizes graciously donated by: UH Athletics; "I Do" Engravables; Flash Photography; and the UH Bookstore. A Jazz Trio, led by Ryan Gabbart provided music for the reception.

College of Education Alumni Association Board members, Dr. Melissa Knop, Dr. Pamela Butler, Dr. Robert Borneman, Dr. Wayne Emerson and Dr. Jacqueline Hawkins were there  to welcome our newest alumni members. Also in attendance were Sandra Jacobson and the Office of Annual Giving who had UH Cougar Spirit Cords available for graduates.

Dean McPherson spoke about the College of Education’s Young Alumni Members Group with each COE graduate receiving their UH interlocking pendant as a member. The Young Alumni Members Group is looking forward to its first Happy Hour event which is tentatively scheduled for sometime in June.  This and other upcoming events will give COE alumni an opportunity to stay connected after graduation.  Graduates - please keep an eye out for an email invitation.

A great time was had by all and we've captured the fun with a slide show of the event.
