Reading Mentors Needed

The ACES Institute has partnered with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to bring Read Houston Read to our Third Ward partner schools. As a mentor, you will have the chance to impact a child’s life by reading and engaging in fun activities with them once a week. Read Houston Read is a designed to support HISD’s Literacy By 3 initiative, which aims to have every child reading on grade level by the end of third grade.

This is part of a community-wide effort to reverse the cycle of low literacy in Houston. As one of our mentors with Read Houston Read, you will have the opportunity to impact a child’s life by reading and engaging in fun, educational activities with him or her once a week.
