CAPS Let’s Talk

“Let’s Talk” is a program that provides easy access to informal confidential consultations with therapists from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Consultations are available to the entire UH community – students, staff, and faculty. Consultations are free of charge, and no appointment or paperwork is needed.

Cougar Cupboard

The University of Houston’s Cougar Cupboard is in partnership with the Houston Food Bank’s Food for Change market network. The cupboard is available to all enrolled UH undergraduate or graduate students who may need access to additional food. Cougar Cupboard is located on the first floor of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (in UH Wellness), and is stocked full of fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen/refrigerated foods, and dry goods.

Shasta’s Open House

This “open house” event lets you travel across campus and visit dozens of departments and colleges while collecting freebies along the way! Learn about all their upcoming events, services, and ways you can get involved. The more stops you visit, the more giveaways you can get! We’re giving away t-shirts, gas gift cards, and a Nintendo Switch!

LGBTQ+ Ice Cream Social

Come and treat yourself. Our ice cream social gives students an opportunity to meet the LGBTQ Resource Center staff, student organization leaders, fellow Coogs, and campus representatives in a casual environment with ice cream, games, great prizes, and more!

RECFEST: Rock the Rec

It’s time to Rock the Rec at RECFEST 2022! Don’t miss out on this afternoon party filled with music by DJMIK3! Compete with friends for prizes in our 3v3 basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and spikeball tournaments! Inflatable activities such as obstacle courses, archery tag and soccer darts will be out on the lawn for everyone to enjoy! Food, t-shirts, and giveaways (while supplies last) for event attendees! More surprises to come! We’ll see you there!

HPC Potential New Member Orientation

HPC Potential New Member Orientation is a mandatory event to attend in order to participate in HPC Primary Recruitment, occurring September 8-12. During this event PNMs will learn about the Recruitment Process and have the opportunity to meet their Recruitment Counselor.

In order to participate, Potential New Members would have needed to register in Campus Director before 8/31.

Fall Convocation 2022

You are cordially invited to the 2022 Fall Convocation on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6:30pm at Moores Opera House. Welcoming remarks will be given by President Renu Khator. The keynote speaker is Krystafer Redden (’13), Chief of Staff, Rhode Island Department of Education.

InfraRED

Come out to InfraRED and GAME ON! We’ll have tons of sports themed activities including Virtual Reality experiences, Human Foosball, basketball shoot out, sports themed arcade games, photo booths, and more! Come meet UH Athletics to learn about fall sports at UH, grab some free food and giveaways, and don’t forget to get your tickets for a chance to win some awesome prizes! We’ll see you on September 1st from 7 – 10 PM in the Houston Room!

Houston Soccer vs. Baylor

The University of Houston women’s soccer team will be kicking off their season against BIG12 opponent and in-state rival Baylor at 7 PM on September 1st. This match will be the first athletic event of the school year. Cooling towels and misting fans will be given away to those in attendance, while supplies last. Students will be able to claim two tickets for this match and every match this upcoming season.
