Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services is here to help you on your journey to living life to the fullest. While some amount of stress, sadness, and anxiety is a normal part of life, we can all find ourselves in a place where we need a little bit of professional help to regain our balance, feel more at peace with ourselves, and feel more in control of our lives.

  • From more traditional individual and couples counseling to workshops, group therapy, and Single Session Therapy, they are always looking to find the solution that best meets your needs. CAPS offers a dynamic array of services intended to meet your needs where you are, from short-term individual and couples counseling to workshops, group therapy and single session therapy.
  • Additionally, the Let’s Talk program provides easy access to informal confidential consultations with therapists at various locations across campus during the week.
  • If you are experiencing a crisis situation and need to speak with someone immediately, please contact CAPS at 713.743.5454 or walk into CAPS. If it is after business hours and you are in imminent crisis, please call 911 or CAPS at 713.743.5454 and you will be connected to the after-hours counselor. You can also call the crisis hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

National Suicide Prevention Hotline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of 161 crisis centers that provides a 24/7, toll-free hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.

The Harris Center

The Harris Center offers a wide variety of mental health services to Harris County – from inpatient and outpatient treatment, education, and counseling. Multiple locations are available in the Houston area.
