Coog Strong, Mask On is the University of Houston’s rallying cry to defeat COVID-19. It is a recognition that our UH Community must unite on a common mission to prevent the pandemic from disrupting our individual goals and our University’s Tier One academic and research pursuits.
To be successful as a University, individually we must commit to protect ourselves, and each other, from contracting and spreading this virus using a strategy that starts with our first line of defense:
Mask On. Together, we are Coog Strong.
Our Expectations, Your Commitment
Required on campus at all times in indoor public areas and outdoors when physical distancing is not possible, except in cases when an official accommodation has been granted.
Make every effort to maintain at least a 6-foot distance from others (even when wearing a face covering). Avoid gathering in groups and stay away from crowded areas.
Good Hygiene Practices
- Wash hands often for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your face
- Avoid sharing food, cups and utensils
- Sneeze/cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow
- Wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and avoid contact with others.
Report Exposure, Diagnosis or Symptoms
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, display symptoms, or have been potentially exposed to a person with COVID-19, report it through the proper UH channels so that necessary precautions can be taken to protect others and follow outlined protocols to minimize the spread and take care of your health.
Conduct a health self-assessment each morning.
The University has developed signs to remind you of prevention protocols to follow. The signs are available to download and print in the Download Zone.
