Overview: College commencement ceremonies are held at the end of the fall semester to recognize fall degree candidates and at the end of the spring semester to recognize spring and summer degree candidates. Summer candidates will participate in spring commencement with no permission or petitions required.
Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion of a degree. Graduation is the completion of all degree requirements as recorded on the official transcript. Actual diplomas are not awarded at commencement ceremonies and participation in the ceremonies is not a guarantee of degree completion.
