Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Graduate Students

The largely diverse student body is a major part of what makes the University of Houston great, and the Department of Psychology strives to be an inclusive environment for all students. In order to stay true to these values, it is crucial that we make diversity, inclusion, and equity a core priority in every aspect of our department, including our instructor training, research, mentoring, and service.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Graduate Students (DEIGS) is a student-run committee (founded in Fall of 2020) dedicated to ensuring departmental accountability for anti-racism and promoting diversity and inclusion for students of all races, abilities, cultures, religions, genders, and sexual orientations.. Each year, DEIGS clearly outlines a set of action steps dedicated to promoting equal opportunity for all while respecting and valuing diversity. View our current action steps!
