Earlier this year, the International Neuropsychological Society, the main professional society of clinical neuropsychology worldwide, recognized the contributions of Dr. H. Julia Hannay to the field with its lifetime Distinguished Career Award. “Few lifetime achievement awards have been given out by the Society,” said David J. Francis, a Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor and chair of the department of psychology. “Recognition of a lifetime record of contribution to a discipline by one’s national and international peers is among the highest honors that a university professor can receive.” Read More

March 22: – Screening of the Lebanese film Under the Bombs and post-screening talk by Latif Adnane of the Houston Palestine Film Festival hosted by the Arab Studies Program in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and the Arab Student Union. Free event with food served is from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Room 101 of the Social Work Building.
March 29: – Opening reception for the 35th School of Art Masters’ Thesis Exhibition
Celebration of the creativity of the 2013 School of Art Master of Fine Arts candidates: Megan Badger, Christopher Cascio, Erica Ciesielski Chaikin, Fiona Cochran, Carrie Cook, Stacey Farrell, Elicia Garcia, El Franco Lee II, Jessica Ninci, Stephen Paré, Jasleen Sarai, and Katelin Washmon. Free event from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Blaffer Art Museum. The show runs from March 30 – April 13.
