Summary: 9066 to 9/11 is a look at the World War II-era treatment of Japanese Americans as seen through the contemporary lens of out post-9/11 world. As the United States government fights a "War on Terrorism" with no end in sight, its tactics and policies have caused a frightening sense of deja vu for some Americans and Japanese descent- in 1942 they were sent to American concentration camps during World War II as a result of Executive order 9066 signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Of particular concern has been the treatment of Arab and Muslim immigrants in America; while new concentration camps have not materialized, mass deportation and detentions have forced a comparison of the two experiences, revealing a striking set of similarities.
