Cutting-edge research for Undergraduate and Secondary/High School Students
The Computational Biomedicine Lab at the University of Houston is seeking talented and motivated research interns to contribute to our cutting-edge projects. Our summer internship program offers a unique opportunity for both undergraduate students and highly motivated secondary/high school students to gain hands-on experience in advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques applied to real-world challenges.
What Interns Can Expect to Gain:
- Enhanced ability to form actionable research questions and clear, testable hypotheses
- Practical skills in state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques
- Experience working with cutting-edge technologies and tools
- Insight into the application of AI in addressing real-world societal challenges

Intern Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in one or more aspects of ongoing research projects
- Assist in formulating research questions and hypotheses
- Help design and implement experiments
- Write and run computer code to test hypotheses
- Work alongside graduate students and researchers to learn the research process firsthand
Required Skills:
- Essential coding ability in Python or another programming language
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to study background material and engage in full-time, results-oriented research
Internship Details:
- Duration: Six to twelve weeks between June and September
- Location: University of Houston, Houston, TX
