directors
and
actors,
offering
multiple
perspectives
on
what
it
means
to
live
unmoored
from
the
guarantees

social
inclusion
or
the
continuities
of
cultural
tradition.
In The Namesake, introduced by Dr. Bhavya Tiwari, American-born Gogol, the son of Indian immigrants, wants to fit in among his fellow New Yorkers, despite his family’s unwillingness to let go of their traditional ways.
