This research presentation will cover breast cancer biology, development of experimental therapeutics and preventive agents for breast cancer prevention, interception, and treatment in animal models.
About the Speaker
Qiang Shen is a professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology at the School of Medicine, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans. He earned his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine. Shen’s laboratory focuses on the investigation of transcription factors, metabolic enzymes, mitochondrial kinases and apoptotic proteins in both normal and cancer cells, aiming to develop targeted cancer therapies.
