Innovative Research Talk with Kumaraswamy Chitrala

Tuesday, May 28, 2024

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Kumaraswamy Naidu Chitrala will discuss the results of his pilot research project, “Identifying Health Disparities in Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy among African American and White Populations with Triple Negative Breast Cancer”.

African American and socioeconomically disadvantaged white populations face racial disparities in aggressive cancer subtypes like triple negative breast cancer. Chitrala’s research investigates the role of DNA methylation and transcriptomic profiles in TNBC disparities, using transcriptome-wide association study to analyze single-cellular levels. Through his Pilot award, he identifies critical genes influencing racial disparities in TNBC patients.
