Be Seen: Strategies for Improving Research Visibility and Impact

At our second-annual Be Seen workshop, you will learn new strategies for elevating the discoverability of your research and scholarship through resources that are immediately available to all. Speakers Andrea Malone and Taylor Davis-Van Atta from UH Libraries will emphasize strategies that pertain to:
- Curating your web presence and online scholarly profile
- Leveraging tools and platforms to showcase your scholarship online
- Identifying potential communication avenues
About the Speakers
Andrea Malone, research visibility and impact Coordinator at UH Libraries. In this role, she works with faculty and researchers to develop strategies for increasing the visibility of their research and gather metrics to assist them with communicating the national and global impact of their research. Her professional and research interests include scholarly metrics, international librarianship, diversity, equity & inclusion, mentoring, and Francophone studies.
Taylor Davis-Van Atta is head of research services at UH Libraries and was previously director of the Digital Research Commons, a lab for interdisciplinary research housed in M.D. Anderson Library. He is the founding publisher and co-editor of the humanities journal Music & Literature. His areas of specialization include scholarly publishing, open access, and author rights, and his research interests include social interoperability as it relates to digital research/project sustainability and the presentation and preservation of born-digital research outputs.
