Canoeing the San Marcos River
Saturday, February 18, 2023
6:00 am - 6:00 pm
Description: Are you itching for one of our more advanced trips?
If so, join us as we canoe down the San Marcos River, where we’ll explore one of the more biologically diverse aquatic ecosystems known in the southwestern United States. The San Marcos River is known as the “cleanest river in Texas,” rising from Edwards Aquifer, creating this incredibly clear-running river that remains a cool 72 degrees year-round.
On this adventure, we will take off from Texas State as we twine through the river, under some bridges, and over a few dams. Grab a paddle and a friend as we enjoy the waters of this iconic river. *We will be paddling a moderate 4-6 miles downriver.
On our way back to campus, we will swing into town and stop by Kent Black’s BBQ, a local favorite and well-known spot with 4.5 stars and 2,500+ reviews! *Meal not included in trip registration*
